Windsor Art Group was founded in 1982 by Judith Gardener, then a lecturer in fine art at Windsor College.
Membership is open to local amateur community artists who enjoy working in the company of others. Included in the Group’s programme of works are a variety of themes, plus models and still life. During the summer recess a programme of en plein air venues, located in the surrounding area, are arranged so that members can gather to paint in the comfort of each other’s company.
Classes are not tutored. Members are self-taught benefiting from comment and advice from fellow Members. Each end of term sees a review of that terms work when Members are asked to provide feedback.
The Group invites local professional artists to demonstrate their particular style of painting either by demonstrating their technique or guiding members through a workshop.
Over many years the Group has held public exhibitions of work at various venues across Berkshire. In 2019 Windsor Art Group was particularly grateful and pleased to be able to hold our Summer exhibition at The Savill Garden Building. Windsor Art Group exhibits Members work annually.
The Group meets every Tuesday evening during school term at:
Dedworth Middle School.
